Growing Community Garden Fall Festival begins with garden care activities at 9 am. At 11:30 am all will be gathering under the big tent for honoring the 15th year celebration of the garden - key partners - wonderful volunteers - summer staff - garden history and invitation to contribute to a digital "time capsule" with messages about the garden to a future generation of GCG gardeners. A FREE LUNCH for all attendees begins at Noon (12:00). Guest organizations and groups will offer activities, games, information, and interactions from 1:00 pm until 3:45 pm At 3:45 will be the community pet blessing event. All are invited to bring pets that can be safely presented, or a photo of each pet can be offered, for a group blessing by Rev. David Newhouse. Pet owners will be asked to register their name(s), each pet's name, and a text or email address to receive a digital certificate of blessing. Immediately following the Pet Blessing will be a Pet Memorial moment to remember all pets who passed away during the past year. Candles will be available to place in a sandbox container and lit to honor each lost pet.Read More
